Saint Andrew’s School, situated on an 81-acre (32 hectare) campus five miles from the Atlantic Ocean, offers a traditional college-preparatory boarding school experience in South Florida. At Saint Andrew’s School, our mission is to develop every student in mind, body and spirit.
Our goal is to develop creative thinkers. We believe that to be successful in school as well as in life, children must develop skills that allow them to work with others, bring individual perspectives to a challenge, and have a comprehensive and global understanding of historical and current issues. To achieve this, we provide an innovative, international curriculum.
Our philosophy is that children need a balanced approach to education. We believe that arts, athletics, extra-curricular offerings, service, wellness, and spirituality are complementary and supportive companions to our academic program. In addition to our robust academic offerings, we have 67 sports teams, weekly chapel services, international exchanges, 25 performing arts groups, compulsory service, and numerous activities such as robotics and video production.
Our expectation is a school community environment based on our founding principle of “honor above all.” We believe in developing character and expect our students, parents, and staff to demonstrate honor in the areas of academics, sportsmanship and decorum on or off our campus.
Over the last decade, over $30 million in new plant construction and renovation projects have been completed, including the new $6.5 million Andrews Hall – The Center for Performing Arts, $6.5 million Malnik Family Athletic Center, $3.2 million Schmidt Family Science Center, $8 million Moabery Early Years Learning Center.
Saint Andrew’s is unique in its commitment to bringing a global emphasis to our core curriculum. In 2010, we joined the global ranks of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Round Square, a worldwide association of more than 100 schools on five continents. We host 105 boarding students from 27 different countries and provide access to international exchanges, service projects and travel as an extension of our Upper School experience. While 99% of our graduates attend four-year colleges and universities, a full 75% of students attend a college ranked “most competitive” or “highly competitive”.
Weekend activities take advantage of South Florida’s offerings. We have a variety of activities and events, some are required, including Community Nights and wellness programs, but most are optional special trips to local attractions such as the beach, laser tag, professional sports, and professional theater and dance productions. Several times each year, you will be able to go to one of Orlando’s famous theme parks. The Resident Life Program provides the ability to learn independence in a supportive structured environment which prepares you for college and the real world.
